Does permanent makeup look natural?
Yes, when performed by a skilled artist, permanent makeup can look very natural. Techniques like hairstroke brows that mimic natural hairs, or powder brows for soft shading, can be very natural-looking ways to achieve fuller or more defined brows with permanent makeup. Lip blush enhances natural lip color without appearing heavy - results can be very sheer to look more like a lip tint or mimic a more desirable natural lip color.
How long should permanent makeup last?
Every treatment lasts different lengths of time, depending on the area being treated, the pigment used and client factors (such as skin type, lifestyle, medications/health issues, and precare/aftercare). Permanent makeup typically last 1-2 years. Touch-ups are required to maintain the desired look. Longevity depends on certain factors based on an individual basis. For those who go to the gym and or tan often may need touch ups after 9 months if desired.
Is permanent makeup painful?
The procedure is generally not very painful as primary and secondary numbing agents are applied before and during the process. Some discomfort may still be experienced, which varies based on individual pain tolerance.
Can permanent makeup be removed?
Permanent makeup can be removed using laser removal or saline removal. If you have previous permanent makeup that is still visible and would like a cover up, we will need to review if enough pigment has faded or if removal may be required. We can go through this during your consultation.
How safe is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is generally safe when performed by a trained and certified professional using sterile tools and pigments. However, risks include allergic reactions, infection, and uneven results. Always research your artist and ensure proper precare and aftercare.
Can I shower after permanent makeup?
Yes, but you should avoid getting the treated area wet for the first 7-10 days to prevent pigment loss. Instead, use gentle wipes to clean your face while keeping the treated area dry. Full aftercare advice will be given at the end of your appointment.
Who should avoid having permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is not recommended for: pregnant or breastfeeding individuals; those with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or keloid-prone skin near the treatment area; people with active infections, open wounds, or cold sores in the area; individuals taking blood-thinning medications without consulting their doctor.
Is Permanent Makeup worth it?
I’ve never met one client that has regretted getting a procedure done with myself. I have, however, heard and seen many horror stories of permanent makeup offered at low prices for low quality work and that is super scary to get a face tattoo and risk having it botched up which is why I suggest being very choosey about your artist. Tattoo removal is costly and painful as I hear so do your due diligence.
